Ant Timpson, producer of such films as THE ABCs OF DEATH, HOUSEBOUND, and TURBO KID, has made his feature directorial debut with the darkly comedic thriller COME TO DADDY, which will be having its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival tonight (April 25th) at 9pm. In anticipation of the film's debut, a clip has been released online and can be seen below.
Elijah Wood and Stephen McHattie star in COME TO DADDY, with Wood taking on the role of
Norval Greenwood, a a privileged man-child who arrives at the beautiful and remote coastal cabin of his estranged father only to discover his dad's shady past that is rushing to catch up with both of them.
The clip shows a very awkward interaction between Wood and McHattie's characters, one that's amusing but also quite strange. Taking this as an indication of the film's brand of humor, I can already see this becoming a cult favorite.
Scripted by Toby Harvard, COME TO DADDY was produced by Harvard, Mette-Marie Kongsved, Laura Tunstall, Daniel Bekerman, Katie Holly, and Emma Slade, with Timpson serving as executive producer alongside Tim Headington, Lia Buman, and Hussain Amarshi. Alex Ordanis and Jacqueline Nguyen are co-producers.
Martin Donovan, Michael Smiley, Madeleine Sami, and Simon Chin are also in the cast.
COME TO DADDY hasn't yet secured distribution, but I don't think it will be long before it does.
