On the heels of releasing several new posters for the film, the first trailer for Clerks III has been released and the Quick Stop is open for business once again in what should be a fun outing for fans of director Kevin Smith.
1994’s Clerks out Kevin Smith on the map as an indie writer and director to watch. Smith returned to the world of Dante and Randal in the 2006 sequel, Clerks II. The sequel found the duo having to find a new job at a local fast-food restaurant after Quick Stop Groceries burned down. By the end of the film, Jay and Silent Bob helped with getting Quick Stop and RST Video rebuilt so Dante and Randall could return to what had become their second home.
In the third installment, Randal suffers a near-fatal heart attack and it soon changes his outlook on life. This seems to be inspired by what Kevin Smith went through in real life after he suffered a near-fatal heart attack of his own. The incident inspires Randal to make a movie at Quick along with his good buddy Dante that details their lives as clerks at the convenience store. Through the movie being created, it will allow Clerks III to recreate some moments from the original film in a meta way to close out the trilogy. Brian O’Halloran and Jeff Anderson return as Dante and Randal while other original stars like Marilyn Ghigliotti, Jason Mewes, Trevor Fehrman, Kevin Smith, and Scott Schiaffo will also make appearances. Rosario Dawson, who was featured in Clerks II, is also back for the third entry.
Did YOU like the trailer for Clerks III? The movie is set to be released via Lionsgate and Fathom Events in theaters for two nights only, coming this September 13 and 15, 2022.
