Cinemax to adapt Marvel/Icon comic Scarlet into a television series

Cinemax has another comic book-based television series in the works. During an appearance at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, co-creator Brian Michael Bendis announced that HBO's sister network is developing a small screen adaptation of his Marvel/Icon comic Scarlet. Bendis said the project is “at the earliest stage," however "the team around it…will be announced as soon as all are on the same page.”

The comic, launched in 2010, centers on "a rebellious young Portland, Oregon woman named Scarlet Rue who ends up sparking a second American revolution." The tone of the title, which is known for its graphic violence, has been compared to The Punisher, and during the panel Bendis said “Scarlet is a list of things you can’t get made. Here’s a female lead who’s killing cops because her world is broken.” He also added that “when it was sold it was sold to people who were actively looking for that, so that put us in a good place. So stay tuned.”

I haven't read any of the comics, but based on the description it sounds like Cinemax is a good home for the planned series. Who would you like to see play Scarlet?
