Many of the major studios in Hollywood used CinemaCon this year (and every year) to update the world on what they have planned for the future of movies, and usually, each one gets at least one to two opportunities to get people jazzed. However, Disney was busy stealing everyone’s thunder this year, not only because they whipped out clips for movies like AVENGERS: ENDGAME and TOY STORY 4, but also because they got into what all they have planned with their new bevy of Fox properties. There’s a lot to unpack when it comes to the House of Mouse’s plans for world domination, but our own Paul Shirey is here with a new video to break down all the goodies they have coming down their gold-and-jewel-lined pipe.

While everyone expected to see a sizzle reel from Disney showcasing just their titles, a bit of a Shyamalan twist came in the form of popular clips thrown in there from Fox titles like DIE HARD, HOME ALONE and AVATAR. The idea, of course, was to remind the audience that now all of these major brands and titles are under one corporate roof with Disney, at least for now, planning to be keep the 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight brands intact.
After this was a confirmation that Disney has major plans to keep franchises like Planet of the Apes, Alien and Avatar going, because of the course they would, as those are major properties in the Fox canon with plenty of money on the table. They also plan to incorporate more X-Men and Deadpool movies into their slate, saying we will certainly be seeing those characters again soon. We can only hope, as Deadpool did seem excited to be going to his brand-new school.

But after some shop talk and digging into a clip from the upcoming X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX – which will conclude this iteration of the mutant heroes – Disney got into what will be some of their bigger projects on the 2019 docket, including remakes of animated classics like ALADDIN and LION KING and the Angelina Jolie-led MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL. The former two showed off some pretty cool footage that further proves why they will bring in the big bucks, while some MALEFICENT footage failed to sway Paul into getting excited about some family-friendly sorcery.
One of the final big takeaways was of the footage shown for the upcoming FORD V. FERRARI from James Mangold (LOGAN, WALK THE LINE), which all but blew our beloved Paul out of his seat. He has nothing but nice things to say about the footage he saw of the movie starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon, proclaiming that when the trailer finally does hit that this will be a movie that makes all of our radars.
So, yeah, there's a ton to be excited about to come from the Disney we know and love, and from all the stuff they have planned with their new toy chest. If you thought they were printing money now just wait until they really start expanding operations by having the Avengers fight off the Xenomorphs.
