Chucky TV series promo challenges you to a staring contest

Last Updated on October 13, 2021

Have you ever wanted to have a staring contest with Chucky the killer doll? The latest promo for the Chucky TV series has given you your chance, and you can participate in this contest by checking out the video embedded above. Important reminder: Today, October 12th is the Chucky premiere date! Chucky begins airing on both Syfy and USA Network tonight at 10pm Eastern.

Chucky is set to have an eight episode run, and our own Alex Maidy has already seen four of those episodes. Maidy’s 7/10 review can be read at THIS LINK.

A follow-up to all of the Child’s Play movies (remake excluded), Chucky picks up where Cult of Chucky left off. Don Mancini, who has written every Child’s Play film (except that remake) and directed a few of them, developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. Mancini and Kirschner are executive producing Chucky with Harley Peyton, Alex Hedlund, and Nick Antosca. Mancini also directed the first episode. The show’s synopsis:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

The cast of the series includes Zackary Arthur, Devon Sawa (playing the dual role of twin brothers), Bjorgvin Arnarson, Jacob Breedon, Lexa Doig, Teo Briones, Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Lind’s real-life mother Barbara Alyn Woods. David Kohlsmith is playing the young Charles Lee Ray for the scenes where we’ll see his “untold origins”. And yes, Brad Dourif has again recorded the lines Chucky will be speaking.

With the Scream trailer in the morning and the Chucky premiere at night, this is shaping up to be a good day.
