Sorry, Devon – Chucky’s back! The first trailer for the upcoming third season of Chucky has arrived just two weeks after the initial teaser dropped.
With season three of Chucky just a few weeks away – and the iconic character scaring it up at Halloween Horror Nights – the trailer teases the return of fan favorite Devon Sawa and Jennifer Tilly, plus guest starring roles for SNL’s Sarah Sherman and Kenan Thompson.
As per Syfy: “In Chucky’s unending thirst for power, season 3 now sees Chucky ensconced with the most powerful family in the world — America’s First Family, inside the infamous walls of the White House. How did Chucky wind up here? What in God’s name does he want? And how can Jake, Devon, and Lexy possibly get to Chucky inside the world’s most secure building, all while balancing the pressures of romantic relationships and growing up? Meanwhile, Tiffany faces a looming crisis of her own as the police close in on her for “Jennifer Tilly’s” murderous rampage last season.“
Devon Sawa has proven to be a welcome mainstay throughout Chucky, with the actor being showcased in every season so far. In season one, he played twin brothers Lucas and Logan Wheeler, father and uncle to Jake Wheeler; in season two, he played Father Bryce, who at one point gets possessed by Charles Lee Ray; for his third outing, he is none other than the President of the United States of America.
Also returning for the third season are Zackary Arthur as Jake Wheeler, Alyvia Alyn Lind as confidant Lexy Cross and Björgvin Arnarson as boyfriend Devon Evans. And who can forget Brad Dourif as Chucky and Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany?
The first episode of season three of Chucky, the terrifyingly titled “Murder at 1600”, arrives on October 4th. As is tradition, Chucky will have a Halloween episode early on, with this outing airing on October 25th and titled “Halloween III: Season of the Witch”, tying into other season three episodes named after movies, including “Let the Right One In” and “Jennifer’s Body”. Each week, new episodes will stream on Peacock the day after they air.
Reviews for Chucky have been strong so far, with the first two seasons being praised by critics and fans alike. It has also been nominated at the Saturn Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, Critics’ Choice Super Awards, and more.
