Season 2 of the Syfy / USA Network series Chucky wrapped up its eight episode run back in November, and now we know when fans are going to have a chance to add Blu-ray and/or DVD copies to their physical media collections: March 28th. In fact, Blu-ray and DVD copies of Chucky season 2 can already be pre-ordered on Amazon right HERE!

A follow-up to all of the Child’s Play movies (remake excluded), Chucky picks up where Cult of Chucky left off. Don Mancini, who has written every film in the franchise (except that remake) and directed a few of them, developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. Mancini and Kirschner are executive producing Chucky with Harley Peyton, Alex Hedlund, and Nick Antosca. Here’s the synopsis for Chucky season 2:

After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake, Devon, and Lexy, along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy. Meanwhile, will ‘Jevon’ make it as a couple in the face of adversity at their new Catholic school, not to mention a brand-new onslaught of terror from the demon doll?

The series stars Jennifer Tilly (as serial killer Tiffany Valentine, now inhabiting the body of actress Jennifer Tilly), Zackary Arthur (as Jake Wheeler), Alyvia Alyn Lind (as Lexy Cross), Fiona Dourif (as Nica Pierce), Björgvin Arnarson (as Devon Evans), Alex Vincent (as Andy Barclay), Christine Elise (as Kyle), Barbara Alyn Woods (as Mayor Michelle Cross), Lachlan Watson (as Glen/Glenda), and Brad Dourif (providing the voice of Chucky). Chucky season 2 also has Devon Sawa in its cast, despite the fact that the twin brothers he played in season 1 were both killed. Lara Jean Chorostecki, Tony Nappo, Tilly’s sister Meg Tilly, her Bound co-stars Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano, and her best friend Sutton Stracke (known for being one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) are in there as well.

Sawa has said that it felt like Mancini was going “even f*cking wilder” with season 2… and he definitely did. Chucky season 2 was a bit too wild and weird for my taste. I can’t say I enjoyed it nearly as much as the first season. But I like to keep my franchise collections complete, so I’ll be buying a copy of Chucky season 2 anyway. And when the show returns for season 3, I’ll still be watching it all.
