Chuck star Zachary Levi joins NBC’s Heroes Reborn mini-series

Here are two things that probably instantly make you reflect on the mid 2000s: CHUCK and HEROES. Both NBC series were pretty big their first two seasons before fizzling out in the ratings. While HEROES went off the wall a bit in the final, incomprehensible seasons, CHUCK was still a fun show full of humor and action. If I could have one back on the air, I would pick CHUCK, but I will settle for Zachary Levi joining the upcoming HEROES REBORN mini-series.

TV Line reported on Levi’s casting. His role is currently unknown but is said to be key to the show. He joins the only other currently cast actor, Jack Coleman, who will return as Noah Bennett (aka Horn-Rimmed Glasses). Levi shared the following regarding his casting.

“There are a few franchises I’ve always wanted to be a part of, and Heroes is one of them. Chuck gave me the opportunity to wield some fun powers, but an entire world with superpowers is a world I’ve always wanted to explore. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with Tim [Kring], and the awesome team around him, in bringing this to life,” he adds. “Moreover, to be working with NBC again is such a reward in itself, as my bonds and relationships there are deep.”

HEROES REBORN has no plot synopsis as of yet but it is possible a few other cast-members from the original series could return. NBC is looking at the “event series” as a limited, one time event. If the ratings end up being any good, we could see HEROES return as a regular series.

HEROES REBORN has no current release date but expect it sometime in 2015.
