Chuck is one of those cult fan-favorite series that still endures today. Running across 91 episodes, the series was never a HUGE ratings hit for NBC but it had a devoted following. If you’ve been getting the urge to binge the show you’re in luck because it has found a new streaming home on HBO Max.
Until recently, Chuck had been available on streaming via Amazon Prime but now the nerd-spy series has hit HBO Max as of February 2022. All five seasons and 91 episodes are officially streaming on the service and that’s fitting because Chuck was produced by Warner Bros. TV. Here’s hoping that Chuck will find a brand new audience that will come to love the show as much as some of us already have.
The series focused on Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi), an everyday nerd who accidentally opens an encoded email that transfers a highly advanced program called the Intersect into his head. The Intersect contained all of the United States’ top federal secrets and now they’re all housed in Chuck’s mind. As the show progressed, Chuck would become a CIA agent himself.
Chuck had a devoted following but the show became known more for always being on the bubble at NBC because its ratings never really reached massive status for a series on one of the Big Four networks. The show remained on the bubble all five of its seasons but fans would start campaigns that managed to convince NBC to keep renewing it until its fifth and final year. Having ended in a very controversial way for fans, maybe a successful run on HBO Max will spark some kind of revival talks in the near future.
