Christopher Nolan may have just found his post-DARK KNIGHT RISES project. Insiders are reporting the director is in talks to return to the sci-fi genre with INTERSTELLAR.
The film is based on the scientific theories of physicist Kip Thorne with a script and story by Jonathan Nolan. While details on the plot are scant, reports say the film involves time travel and alternate dimensions, and sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole.
Steven Spielberg was originally attached to direct and there’s no word as to whether or not he will remain with the project in a producer-ly capacity. INTERSTELLAR is being spearheaded by Paramount but will be a collaboration with Warner Bros and Nolan’s Syncopy production company. While it seems like a sure thing, the deal has not yet been made official so stay tuned for further updates on whether or Nolan will truly go INTERSTELLAR.
