Christopher Landon attached to direct sci-fi thriller Capsule

This is a good time in the career of director Christopher Landon. His "slasher GROUNDHOG DAY" horror-comedy HAPPY DEATH DAY made over $100 million at the global box office this year, and now he's lining up future directing gigs. Just last week, we heard that Landon is attached to direct a ghost story called ERNEST, and now news has come out on another genre project Landon is working on, a sci-fi thriller called CAPSULE.

Written by Joe Greenberg, CAPSULE is about

a lonely astronaut who is marooned on his ship billions of miles from Earth. On the verge of starvation, he reprograms the computer AI system to digitally look and sound like a beautiful call girl. With death around the corner, she becomes his only companion — until a rescue team shows up with questionable intentions.

Landon is attached to direct CAPSULE, which is being produced by Lawrence Grey and Eric Heisserer under their new production banner Ideogram.

Before HAPPY DEATH DAY, Landon also directed PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES and SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

I haven't seen Landon's other movies yet, but I had fun with HAPPY DEATH DAY. The story for CAPSULE sounds quite interesting – while ERNEST seems like it would be fun, of the two newly announced Landon projects I find the idea of CAPSULE to be more intriguing.
