Christine: Bryan Fuller to give the Stephen King classic a tune-up

Stephen King is such a good writer that even novels that have already been brought to the silver screen are getting re-adapted. The latest remake of a King story will be Christine. While it may be tough to top John Carpenter's killer car flick, Bryan Fuller is going to give it a try.

The 1983 version of Christine starred Keith Gordon, John Stockwell, and Alexandra Paul and told the story of Arnie Cunningham as he fights back against school bullies with the aid of a demonically possessed Plymouth Fury. While the original did well with critics and at the box office (and remains a cult classic), the remake from Fuller and Blumhouse will aim to update the story for a new generation.

Fuller is best known for creating series such as Star Trek: Discovery, American Gods, and Hannibal. He will keep the new film set in the 1980s.

If you ask me, Bryan Fuller is a solid choice for someone looking to get under the hood of Stephen King's Christine. He's a creative force with lots of versatility behind the camera, and damn can he deliver creepy when the situation calls for it. We'll be keeping a close eye on this one for sure.
