Chris Pratt to return to television for Antoine Fuqua’s The Terminal List

After taming Velociraptors, becoming a Master Builder, and helping to defeat Thanos up on the big screen, it's been announced that Chris Pratt is planning on making a return to television as the star and executive producer of THE TERMINAL LIST, a TV series based on Jack Carr’s bestselling novel. At the helm of the ongoing drama is Antoine Fuqua (THE EQUALIZER, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN) by way of his Fuqua Films studio. He'll be joined by writer David DiGilio (TRAVELER, CROSSBONES) for the series, which is currently in development at MRC Television through Civic Joint Media.

Written by DiGilio and directed by Fuqua, The Terminal List is a conspiracy thriller that combines elevated action with deep psychological questions about the cost of pushing our nation’s highest trained operators too far. The series follows Reece (Pratt) after his entire platoon of Navy SEALs is ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission. Reece returns home with conflicting memories of the event and questions about his culpability. However, as new evidence comes to light, Reece discovers dark forces working against him. THE TERMINAL LIST will see Pratt and Fuqua re-teaming after joining forces for THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, an action-adventure Western that Fuqua directed. The film revolves around seven gunmen from a variety of backgrounds that are brought together by a vengeful young widow who's sworn to protect her town from the private army of a destructive industrialist. Pratt was a key member of the film's ensemble cast, of which included Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier, Haley Bennett, and Peter Sarsgaard, among others.

Before he was getting lost in space with Jennifer Lawrence and voicing the character Barley Lightfoot for Pixar's upcoming animated feature ONWARD, Pratt co-starred among a cast of comedic greats on NBC's PARKS & RECREATION. For the show, Pratt played the simple-minded Andy Dwyer, a character whose journey began in a ditch (literally) and ended with him becoming a beloved TV children's show host and frontman of the rock outfit Mouse Rat. Needless to say, Pratt has come a long way since his Parks & Rec days, and THE TERMINAL LIST sounds as if it will present quite the challenge for him, seeing as he's typically known as a comedic actor. For my money, if there's anyone who can conjure the drama from Pratt, it's Fuqua. We'll be watching this project very closely for updates.
