Most every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has given us pretty impressive spectacle for the price of our ticket, but according to Chris Pratt, the upcoming GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 will blow them, and every other spectacle movie, away. Pratt was at the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN and he spoke with the Toronto Sun where he enthusiastically expressed his excitement for the upcoming Marvel flick.
It’s going to be terrific. I’m already so proud of it. We worked really hard on it and it’s a joy to be part of. It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be — I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time. It’s exceptional.
That's a pretty impressive boast, but if GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 manages to successfully build on the first film there's no reason why it can't be true; I suppose we'll just have to wait and see. As for when we might get the first trailer for the sequel, not counting the Comic-Con footage, James Gunn has said that it will likely arrive before Christmas but would you please stop asking him about it.
An official synopsis for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2:
Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017 and THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN arrives on September 23, 2016, but you can read a review from our own Chris Bumbray right now!
