**SPOILERS FOR AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR**
After watching AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR everyone left the theater mad at one person. No, it wasn’t Thanos (Josh Brolin), who wiped out half the universe (and, according to some, looked hot doing it) or even any member of his Black Order. No, people were angry at none other than Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) for attacking Thanos moments before his Infinity Gauntlet was removed by Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Folks blame the unhappy fate of the universe on him, but in a recent interview, Pratt explained why people shouldn’t blame the man for his heated actions.
Pratt was speaking with RadioTimes while promoting JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM when he justified what he did as a very emotional and human reaction, and one we should all sympathize with.
Look, the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Pratt continued, trying to remind everyone who the real villain was. Hint: it's the big purple dude.
I guess you could have the movie end a half hour earlier if you wanted, but it seemed like people really liked this. And also, I blame Thanos, OK? Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame?
I can sort of see why people are mad at Quill after what he did. I mean, they were soooo close to getting the Gauntlet off. But, come on, the man acted out of pure emotion, not logic. It's not like he would've said, "Okay, these guys are going to get that glove off you and then I am REALLY going to let you have it." He's a heartbroken man who is staring into the eyes of the man who killed his lover. It's not like he purposefully threw his magical ax at Thanos' chest just so he could tell him to his face that he won. Looking at you, Thor.
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is in theaters now, and JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM arrives June 22.
