Deepfake videos are very gimmicky but some of them are also pretty damn good. There have been many of them to speak of from Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. being inserted into BACK TO THE FUTURE to Nathan Fillion stepping into the Uncharted video game to prove that he may have been the better casting choice over Tom Holland for the film adaptation. Deepfakes are all about attention to detail and the latest deepfake featuring Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones, is as detailed as it gets.
Chris Pratt gets to don the signature fedora in footage from the first three INDIANA JONES movies, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM, and INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, which has been manipulated to superimpose Pratt's face onto Ford's body. While Ford's real voice is used in the footage, it really looks like Pratt has stepped into the role and it appears pretty seamless. You can check out the deepfake video below:
The video is created by the YouTube user Shamook and it really does give us an idea of what Pratt would look like if they ever decided to remake INDIANA JONES. Harrison Ford is nearly 80 years old and while he's set to return for INDIANA JONES 5, it's more than likely his last time cracking the whip so if they wanted to keep the franchise alive after the fifth installment, recasting would be the only viable option. Pratt's name has popped up many times as a replacement, if they ever went the recast route, although I think fans would rather they put the franchise to rest after Ford plays the character one more time. INDIANA JONES 5 is coming in 2022 so this is a notion we won't have to worry about for a while.
What do YOU think of the deepfake video? Would Chris Pratt be a good replacement to play Indiana Jones?
