Chris Pine stars in trailer for Patty Jenkins’ TNT series I Am the Night

Chris Pine and Patty Jenkins have clearly enjoyed working together as the pair have reunited for I Am the Night, an upcoming TNT limited-series which tells the incredible true story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley), a young woman who was given away at birth. As she begins to investigate the secrets of her past, she follows a sinister trailer which swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Jefferson Mays), a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery who was once a suspect in the murder of Elizabeth Short, a.k.a. the Black Dahlia. Chris Pine stars in the six-episode series as Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-hack-reporter/paparazzo who decides to look into the story.

The recently released trailer for I Am the Night certainly looks quite promising as it's full of good old murder-mystery tension and compelling performances. It's also the second installment of what TNT is now referring to as the TNT Suspense Collection, following in the footsteps of The Alienist. "At TNT, we think well-crafted suspense is the ultimate form of compelling drama. The anticipation of what’s to come taps into the deepest parts of our imagination. Suspense hooks us, immerses us, thrills us, and pays off with a twist we never see coming," reads a TNT press-release. "The TNT Suspense Collection™ will feature premium scripted dramas as well as entertainment and experiences beyond the television screen."

I Am the Night will debut on TNT in January 2019.
