Chris Noth fired from The Equalizer following multiple sexual assault allegations

Talk about incredibly bizarre timing. One week, Chris Noth is the center of many humorous stories regarding his demise as Mr. Big on the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That… after a rigorous workout on a Peleton bike, and the next the actor is under fire for a much more serious reason and now it has led to his agency dropping him as well as losing his series regular role on CBS’ The Equalizer.

Universal Television and CBS have announced that Noth has been fired from the Queen Latifah-fronted series after sexual assault allegations against the actor went public last week, per “Deadline.” In a short statement, the entities said, “Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately.” Noth played William Bishop on the show which is now in its second season. The actor will be seen in one original upcoming episode that was shot before the allegations made headlines and he will also still appear in future repeat episodes that have already aired. The Equalizer is seven episodes into its second season and is currently on hiatus for the holiday break.

In case you missed it, Chris Noth has been accused by three different women of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior. One woman claims that Noth raped her in his Los Angeles apartment back in 2004 while another woman says he sexually assaulted her in 2015 in his New York City apartment. The last woman in question alleges that, when she was 18, Noth groped her and wasn’t taking “no” as an answer when she was working as a restaurant hostess back in 2010. Adding fuel to fire, a former Law & Order actress, Zoe Lister-Jones, also accused Noth of sexually inappropriate behavior when he was a series regular on that show.

In the wake of all the allegations, Noth has also been dropped by his talent agency A3 Artists Agency, a multi-million dollar tequila deal has also been scrapped and a recent Peloton ad featuring Noth’s Mr. Big has also been withdrawn. The ladies of And Just Like That…, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon have also jointly released a statement saying they “support the women” who have accused Noth of sexual assault. You can check out their statement below:

Noth has denied every single allegation against and, speaking through his rep, Noth said, “The story is a complete fabrication, and the alleged accounts detailed throughout read like a piece of bad fiction.” Noth continued in response by saying, “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago – no always means no – that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
