Chris Hemsworth’s The Huntsman finds three new dwarves; Nick Frost to return

I know I’ve seen SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN but I can scarcely recall any of it. I don’t remember it being particularly bad or particularly good for that matter, but what I do remember is that it didn’t exactly scream sequel; however we're getting a sequel anyway with THE HUNTSMAN directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan.

We’d previously told you that the number of dwarves in THE HUNTSMAN would be reduced, with Nick Frost, Eddie Marsan, and Toby Jones opting out of returning. Now THR is reporting that not only have three new actors been hired to portray dwarves, but that Nick Frost will reprise his role from the first film after all. I guess the cheque cleared. The three new additions are Rob Brydon, Alexandra Roach, and Sheridan Smith. The trio will join the previously announced Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, and Jessica Chastain.

THE HUNTSMAN will be a prequel to the events of the first film as it focuses on the lives of the Huntsman and Ravenna (Charlize Theron) prior to the arrival of Snow White. I suppose that's one way to keep Kristin Stewart out of your film.

Cedric Nicolas-Troyan stepped in to replace Frank Darabont, who was previously slated to direct, but the Darabont touch won't be entirely lacking as THE HUNTSMAN will still use the script written by him. THE HUNTSMAN is set for a April 22, 2016 release.
