HORRIBLE BOSSES scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are looking to add a familiar funny face to their VACATION reboot along with the god of thunder. Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are in talks for the Daley and Goldstein’s directorial debut that has already cast Ed Helms as the grown Rusty Griswold. This time around it’s Rusty who sets out to take his family on a road trip similar to the one he took with his family when he was younger. Christina Applegate will be playing Rusty’s wife.
THR reports that Hemsworth will be playing the husband of Rusty’s sister Audrey in the film. While the part hasn’t been cast yet, apparently Hemsworth has wanted to do a comedy for some time. Charlie Day, who sadly isn’t a lead, is in negotiations to cameo as a river rafting guide in the film. Speaking of cameos, VACATION veterans Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are expected to show up as Clark and Ellen Griswold.

The movie was delayed last year over a rating dispute, so it appears that that’s been resolved. There’s no word yet on whether it will be R or PG-13; thankfully Daley and Goldstein have tackled both kinds of movies brilliantly. I can't say we need this reboot but I'm willing to see what these guys can come up with. I wonder if Christie Brinkley will return for a cameo, she's still looking good at 60.
