Chris Evans is People’s Sexiest Man Alive

Being Captain America is one thing, but People’s Sexiest Man Alive is of course a far more coveted title, as Chris Evans now knows. Evans has become the 34th man to be named Sexiest Man Alive, meaning he’ll be the first face you see at the checkout lane.

While Chris Evans must be proud of this vain accomplishment, he’s more excited for his mother. “My mom will be so happy…She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.” Apparently appearing in the highest-grossing movie franchise in history doesn’t quite cut it for bragging rights for Lisa.

“This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about,” said Evans. “It feels like a weird form of humble bragging…Really this will just be a point of bullying…It’s ripe for harassment.” Chris Evans may have a point here. When John Legend was honored in 2019, 2008 recipient Hugh Jackman took the opportunity to dig at 2010 winner Ryan Reynolds:

Chris Evans is the third consecutive member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, following Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man). Fellow Avenger Chris Hemsworth won in 2014. Could this open the door for Chris Pratt or even Vin Diesel? One thing’s for sure: puny little Jeremy Strong will miss out on the MCU link if he’s ever crowned.

People first launched their Sexiest Man Alive feature in 1985, selecting Mel Gibson as their inaugural hunk.
Chris Evans has had quite a 2022. In addition to being named the world’s #1 piece of meat, he also voiced Buzz Lightyear in Disney’s Lightyear and starred in The Gray Man, one of Netflix’s most watched movies ever.

OK, let’s get to the real question here: Is Chris Evans really the sexiest man alive?
