It's been announced that Jeremy Zag's ZAG production and animation company has joined forces with Chris Columbus' 1942 Pictures and Ocean Blue Entertainment to finance and produce a new Christmas movie titled 12/24. Matt Lieberman wrote the script for the planned film, based on an original idea by SAFE HOUSE scribe David Guggenheim.
12/24 will follow "two brothers who find an old home video proving the existence of Santa. They then set a trap to catch him, but when it goes wrong and Santa gets injured, our boys have to save Christmas and embark on a worldwide present-drop operation with the help of Santa's elves."
Columbus is no stranger to X-Mas flicks, and in a statement the HOME ALONE director and CHRISTMAS WITH THE CRANKS screenwriter said "The film is a hybrid of live action real world, with the wild imagination that Jeremy and his team are bringing to the Elves and The North Pole. I love Christmas and I love Christmas movies. This one can be a classic!" Do you think 12/24 has the makings of a future Christmas movie classic?
