The X-Files was, and still remains, one of my all-time favourite shows. It made me laugh, it made me cry, but more importantly it scared the pants off me; however I'm still feeling a little bit of disbelief that The X-Files is actually returning to television. That disbelief should be coming to an end however as The X-Files is about to kick off production of their six-episode event series.
Creator Chris Carter shared the first photo from pre-production shooting and it isn't much but…I'll take it.
I'm not certain if "UFO Test" is really what was being shot (this is The X-Files after all), but we do know that this series will contain its fair share of mythology episodes in additional to standalone stories.
Official production is set to get underway in Vancouver in just a few days so I suspect that we'll be seeing more X-Files information very soon. At the moment we don't know much as to what sort of stories Chris Carter and the gang will present us with, but TVLine has learned that the title of the second episode will be "Home Again." They postulate that the episode may function as a sequel to "Home," a very memorable fourth season episode which dealt with an inbred family in Pennsylvania. Glen Morgan, who wrote the original episode with James Wong, has returned to write and direct "Home Again," which has prompted further speculation. The episode will also feature a character they call “Band-Aid Nose Man," who is described as intimidating, odd, weary, creepy and immeasurably strong, Mr. Man is a powerful, violent and frightening “thought” come to life.
The X-Files returns to FOX on January 24th, 2016.
