Before I leave you today, I thought I would quickly show off this new photo of Chloe Grace Moretz in CARRIE. Having flashbacks from the original? Moretz is drenched in blood, except this time she looks way more sadistic than the previous lead, Sissy Spacek.
The background is a little blurry here, but it looks like a shiny curtain is behind her with lights beaming from above the stage. I could be wrong though. Carrie could already be on the streets f*cking up whatever or whoever comes across her path. Unfortunately, we haven’t had much in the way of trailers or clips from the film so it’s hard to say what directions this new version is taking with the character. Moretz is terrific, and should make the character something of her own. Maybe soon enough we will get a clearer picture of what’s in-store.
Synopsis: The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.
CARRIE will wreak havoc in theaters on October 18, 2013.
