Chilean horror flick Hidden in the Woods scooped for 2013 U.S. release

Well well, here’s a pleasant surprise. After learning this past summer of Michael Biehn and wifey Jennifer Blanc’s plans to remake Chilean horror film HIDDEN IN THE WOODS, Artsploitation Films has scooped up the original with plans for a 2013 U.S. release. How about that!

Starring Siboney Lo (below), Serge Francois, Carolina Escobar, Jose Hernandez, Daniel Antivilo, Domingo Guzman, Carlos Candia, Nicole Perez and Marcelo Valladare:

Ana and Anny, two sisters whom have been raised in isolation, under the atrocity of drug dealing and the incestuous obsession of their grim father. When they, tired of the abuse, call the police, he kills two officers and is put in jail. Free from their father, the girls now will have to escape from Tío Costello, the local drug lord trying to recover a large amount of drugs hidden in the woods.

No telling exactly when in 2013 HIDDEN IN THE WOODS, from director Patricio Valladares, will drop, but my guess is a limited theatrical release will run concurrent with a VOD/DVD date. The flick made its premiere at Fantasia Fest this past summer.
