This past week we have been getting hit with all kinds of updates on Don Mancini and SyFy's upcoming TV series based on Mancini's hit killer doll franchise CHILD'S PLAY. But what's going on with director Lars Klevberg's (POLAROID) remake starring Aubrey Plaza as Andy's Mom, Brian Tyree Henry as Mike and Gabriel Bateman (LIGHTS OUT) as Andy? Well, it looks like the movie's trailer is going to be hitting us next week.
The trailer is said to be attached to Nicholas McCarthy's (THE PACT) new creepy-kid horror flick THE PRODIGY starring Taylor Schilling (ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK) and Jackson Robert Scott (Georgie from director Andres Muschietti's take on Stephen King's IT) when it opens in theaters nationwide February 8. Hell, that film looks cool enough I'll go see it just to catch my first glimpse of new Chucky. How about YOU? Let us know below!
The upcoming remake's official synopsis reads:
A mother (Plaza) gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.
The remake is directed by Lars Klevberg (POLAROID) from a screenplay written by KUNG FURY 2 writer Tyler Burton Smith with STEPHEN KING'S IT producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith producing. Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson executive produced. Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio, and Carlease Burke co-star.
