The Russo Brothers have unveiled the first trailer from their upcoming movie Cherry, starring Tom Holland, and I have to say it's one of the films I'm really looking forward to this year. The new trailer comes on the heels of The Russo Brother releasing the first clip from the film on their social media last week.
Cherry follows an Army medic suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder that becomes a serial bank robber after an addiction to drugs puts him in debt. The Russo Brothers have been praising Holland's performance for a while now & they think he has a shot at some awards attention. Judging from the trailer and what we're seeing so far, this is a significant departure for the Spider-Man actor and could garner him high praise if the film is as solid as it looks. Holland is already coming off of some good reviews for his more dramatic took in the Netflix film, The Devil All the Time.
Cherry, which also stars Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor, Forrest Goodluck, and Michael Gandolfini, will be released in select theaters starting on February 26th, 2021, before heading to Apple TV+ on March 12, 2021, which puts it right at the cutoff for eligibility at the Academy Awards in this extended season due to the global pandemic.
