Cheetah looks really pissed as Warner Bros. unveils first Tarzan poster

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Warner Bros. is finally ready to give us our first look at THE LEGEND OF TARZAN.

With word that a trailer will be released before the week is out, the studio is prefacing that with the film's first teaser one sheet, showing Alexander Skarsgard in the title role… and one really pissed-off Cheetah next to him.

Seriously… what is his problem? Is he preparing for WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES or something? Because this is nowhere near the friendly version we once knew from back in the day.

In fact, it really does say something when Alexander Skarsgard in anything can be overshadowed by a scary chimp hellbent on… the rain falling around them? I'm not really sure.

This is a confusing poster to drop first, and I'm not sure it does anything close to what a teaser poster should – which is tease your interest in a movie. If this was a horror movie where a man from the wilderness and his angry primate enter the civiized world and begin slaughtering people in the hopes of taking their land back, maybe you'd have sold me. But, as a TARZAN movie, this is not the first impression you should desire to make.

THE LEGEND OF TARZAN swings into theaters on July 1, 2016.
