I haven’t purchased advanced tickets to a movie in a long time. I have about five theaters in close proximity to me so I always seem to have luck finding a seat on opening weekend. That being said, I am definitely intrigued to check out THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY in 3D and in 48fps. So, when I saw The Film Stage had listed the theaters showing the new Peter Jackson movie in the higher frame rate, I instantly checked for something near me. Lo and behold, not a single theater in my state! What the f*ck?
This could be an early list with more theaters to come. We do still have a month until the movie hits theaters. It would be shocking to me that not a single theater in the Chicago area would have the ability to show 48fps. Either that will change or I will have to settle 24fps.
