PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is an online multiplayer battle royale game in which a large group of players find themselves parachuting onto an island and are forced to scavenge for weapons and equipment in order to kill the others and become the last player standing. After already being released on Windows and Xbox One, PUBG will be officially released on PlayStation 4 tomorrow, and KONG: SKULL ISLAND director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has directed a live-action PUBG short in order to celebrate the occasion.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts recruited a few of his friends to help him out, including KONG: SKULL ISLAND's Jason Mitchell and THE KINGS OF SUMMER's Nick Robinson, and the result is a kick-ass short which is a hell of a lot of fun. Vogt-Roberts told IGN that "They really let me go nuts with this and design an action scene in their world and it’s just one more step of me wanting to bring games to film in an impactful way." Stunt coordinator Robert Alonzo (DEADPOOL, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL) worked with Vogt-Roberts on the fights in the short which was shot by cinematographer Chung-hoon Chung (OLDBOY, IT: CHAPTER ONE).
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will hit PlayStation 4 on December 7th.
