There’s something deeply satisfying about the capture/torture of a serial killer, as we’re so accustomed to seeing the bad guy “have his way” with his victims and usually end up captured or killed rather quickly and without much punishment for his crimes. Such is the case with BIG BAD WOLVES, an Isreali revenge thriller from filmmakers Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado, whose previous film, RABIES, garnered the duo considerable recognition. Their new film is another step in that direction, having garnered a lot of positive attention at the Tribecca Film Festival, leading to a distribution deal with Magnet. Personally, I love seeing the bad guys suffer a little (or a lot) and this looks to be a solid entry to the revenge genre.
Take a look:
Here’s the synopsis:
A series of brutal murders puts the lives of three men on a collision course: The father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the boundaries of law, and the main suspect in the killings – a religious studies teacher arrested and released due to a police blunder
A release date is still TBD, but expect it to hit U.S. and surrounding countries later this year.
