Steven C. Miller’s UNDER THE BED and Larry Fessenden’s BENEATH may not seem like indie bedfellows, but the two films actually have a lot in common. Both are creature features, both are about a threat from below, and both have new one sheets that hit roughly around the same time. Do you need more of a reason to check the posters out?

UNDER THE BED is the latest from AGGRESSION SCALE and SILENT NIGHT director Steven C. Miller. It was recently picked up by XLrator for U.S. distribution. The synopsis is as follows:

Neal (Jonny Weston, Chasing Mavericks) has returned from a two-year exile following his tragic attempt to defeat the monster, only to find his father ticking ever closer to a breakdown, a new stepmother who fears him, and his little brother Paul (Gattlin Griffith, Changeling), terrorized by the same monster. While Neal and Paul work together to try and fight the nocturnal menace, their parents are taking desperate measures to get the family back to normal. With no support from their parents, the brothers have nothing to rely on but each other, and courage beyond belief.

Next, BENEATH is indie horror icon Larry Fessenden’s project for Chiller TV, produced in conjunction with Glass Eye Pictures. The film follows six kids who find themselves stuck out on a lake in a rowboat being attacked by a ferocious, man-eating fish. The film is already shooting in Connecticut. As a guy who gets creeped out every time he swims in a lake, the flick is already resonating with me.
