Oliver Stone is a very divisive director. Most people either love him or hate him. I find that I like the majority of his movies. The first I ever saw was NATURAL BORN KILLERS. I remember having the director’s cut on a two tape VHS copy. Ah, the good old days.
Stone’s latest, SAVAGES, is looking to be a good crime thriller and likely the director’s best work in quite some time. In conjunction with the upcoming movie, Stone has unveiled his new website, the subtly titled Oliver Stone Experience.
The site is being billed as a one stop shop for all your Oliver Stone needs. It serves as a resource to learn about the director’s life, his past films, and the new and future projects he is working on. SAVAGES is up front with lots of behind the scenes photos (some of which are NSFW) and features on the costume design for the film. There is a ton to wade through on the site, but it is definitely worth checking out.
There is also an embed on the main page for Stone’s recent Funny or Die video. I could not stop laughing as I checked it out. The best part are his critiques of the short film’s director during the closing credits. Take a look.
SAVAGES opens July 6th.
