Although David F. Sandberg is likely best known for helming SHAZAM! at this point, the director got his start with a series of creepy horror shorts which led to helming LIGHTS OUT and ANNABELLE: CREATION on the big-screen. Much like the rest of us, Sandberg is currently isolated at home, but that doesn't mean he can't grab a camera and scare our pants off once again. Together with his wife, Lotta Losten, Sandberg made SHADOWED, a new horror short which finds a woman being tormented by something creepy and supernatural. You might want to save this one for when it's dark out and you want to be terrified of your own home.
When the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us, David F. Sandberg will be getting back behind the camera once again for the SHAZAM! sequel. Sandberg recently said that he had hoped to start shooting this summer, but those plans are on hold for now. "Well, we'll see how long this goes, because I mean, we were going to start shooting this year," Sandberg said. "But, I mean, who knows how long this will go on? I mean, it feels like every movie gets delayed now, so we'll see what happens with Shazam!. But so far, I've been working on the script. We can still do that, so that's being done and then, yeah, we'll just see in a couple of months how it looks, you know?"
SHAZAM! 2 is currently slated for an April 1, 2022 release, but as with most productions these days, that date could very well be pushed back.
