One of the hardest aspects to translate from comic book to film is the superhero's outfit. What works well on the page more often than not doesn't work well on screen. Sometimes this leads us to some bland costumes that don't say much of anything about the character. Hawkeye's outfit from the first Avengers was neither bland nor glaring, but for those of you who wanted something a little more akin to the purple number he wears in the comics, it looks like your cries have not fallen on deaf ears. Comic Book Movie got a hold of scans from the latest Empire Weekly, and as you can see, Hawkeye is edged just a touch closer in color to his comic counterpart in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.
Check him out:
If there's any member of the Avengers who's in desperate need of some fleshing out, it's Hawkeye. At the very least, we know he'll stand out a bit more in AGE OF ULTRON. It's hard to give some of the "lesser" characters more screen time when you have heavy hitters such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk sharing the screen, but if Hawkeye and Black Widow don't get their own movies, maybe they can find time for Clint Barton to team up with another character (much like Natasha Romanoff did with Cap in THE WINTER SOLDIER). Either way, it'll be nice to see the character not spending the bulk of his screen-time as an evil drone.
Hawkeye's purple outfit will bedazzle audiences on May 1, 2015.
