Check out Forest Hills

There’s a trailer now online for a
very cool new indie horror flick called THE FOREST HILLS, which can be
seen below, and I’ve got to say that I love the idea behind it.

The film is about two
horror writers from New York who travel to Kentucky to document an urban legend
that supposedly happened ten years earlier deep in the woods of THE FOREST
HILLS
. Now the part that I thought was particularly cool was that
these two horror writers are actually starting a horror based website. I love
the idea that the film is using that angle as opposed to them being just horror
magazine writers, or something comparable to that. It’s not something that I can
recall seeing in the past, although I’m sure if it’s been done before someone
will graciously correct me. (That’s your cue to spit some bullets. Has this been
done before?)

Wirter/Director Scott Goldberg has this to say
about his film THE FOREST HILLS “I wanted to make a
film that was similar to the type of films that college students shoot for their
final thesis projects. The composition and color is that of a 16mm black and
white documentary. We see the same thing with rip-offs of killers with masks who
stalk their prey. We wanted to go for more of a human side to the killers,
without using masks and using more suspense.”

It’s great that he’s trying to do something
different and taking a chance by using 16mm film, which I’m sure will look
awesome. So take a look at the trailer below, and if you like what you see, make
sure to pop over to the official
THE
FOREST HILLS
MySpace page for more info.
