Scarlett Johansson Ghost in the Shell

We're just a little over a week out from the release of GHOST IN THE SHELL and Paramount has been amping up their marketing campaign for this final stretch with the release of several clips, featurettes and more. I suppose we won't have long to wait to see if the Rupert Sanders directed flick proves to be a worthy adaptation of Masamune Shirow's work, but at the very least, I've found myself quite impressed by GHOST IN THE SHELL's slick production design. Those dazzling visuals take center stage in this new clip which shows off five minutes from the opening action sequence of the film.

GHOST IN THE SHELL stars Scarlett Johansson as the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9 which is devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists. The film also stars Takeshi Kitano as Chief Daisuke Aramaki, Pilou Asbæk as Batou, Juliette Binoche as Dr. Ouélet, Chin Han as Togusa and Michael Pitt as Kuze. If you'd care for a little more GHOST IN THE SHELL goodness, make sure to read our own JimmyO's recent review of the 12-minute IMAX preview.
