Ahead of tomorrow's full trailer reveal for Annapurna Pictures' VICE, director Adam McCay has taken to his personal Twitter account to share a tease related to the big unveiling. In the upcoming biographical drama, Christian Bale (THE MACHINIST, AMERICAN PSYCHO) stars as Dick Cheney, an American politician and businessman who served as the Vice President of the United States to President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009.
You can check out McCay's post, as well as the teaser trailer below:
You know, at first I thought that I'd have little interest in this movie, though I must admit that I'm now digging the teaser trailer's "bad boy" approach to Cheney's storied persona. Couple that with Bale offering up another transformative performance as the former Vice President, and that might be enough to get me through the door.
Written and directed by McCay, the upcoming political drama is set to explore the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.
Joining Bale for a look back on the life and times of Dick Cheney are co-stars Amy Adams, Steve Carrell, Sam Rockwell, Jesse Plemons, Alison Pill, Lily Rabe, Tyler Perry, Justin Kirk, LisaGay Hamilton, Shea Whigham and Eddie Marsan. Be sure to come back tomorrow when the full trailer for VICE arrives.
Meanwhile, VICE will arrive in theaters on December 21st, just in time to take all of your politically-charged relatives out to the theater for some good old fashioned family fun.
