One film we're really looking forward to checking out is director E.L. Katz's CHEAP THRILLS, which looks to be a mean-spirited good time with some dark humor thrown in for good measure. You may remember that the festival hit was acquired by Drafthouse Films back in March, and today we have word on when you can finally check this demented-looking thriller out.
Drafthouse Films has now partnered with Cinedigm to release a slate of critically-acclaimed films across all home entertainment channels, one of the first being the SXSW hit CHEAP THRILLS. According to Deadline CHEAP THRILLS will roll out with a pre-theatrical VOD release in January 2014 followed by a theatrical run in February.
CHEAP THRILLS stars David Koechner, Ethan Embry, Amanda Fuller, and THE INNKEEPERS costars Pat Healy and Sara Paxton. The script by Trent Haaga (DEADGIRL) and David Chirchirillo tells the story of…
…a new father facing eviction whose life is turned upside down when he meets a wealthy couple who offer him a path to a better life… but at a price.
I can't wait to get some cheap thrills with CHEAP THRILLS in January.
