Che bootleg trailer

CHE

CHE, Steven Soderbergh’s biopic of revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara (played by Benicio Del Toro), was shown at this year’s Cannes Film Festival as one epic four hour extravaganza (though luckily it’ll be split in two for its theatrical release – the first as THE ARGENTINE, and the second as GUERILLA) and, despite that, a lot of people were impressed with it. Thanks to Rope of Silicon, here’s a look at the Spanish language trailer for THE ARGENTINE. It’s pretty terrible quality but here’s what I could glean from the narration, speeches and subtitles.

Guevara making a speech – “this fight, it’s a fight to the death…”

Guevara talking to some people in a field – “a people who don’t know how to read and write are a people who are easily fooled…”

Narration – “…a revolution”

Subtitle – “…that one person would do”

Narration – “a true revolutionary is coming with ? great vision to stand for truth and justice ?

Subtitle – “A dream”

After that, there’s voice over I can’t make out. If anybody wants to take a stab at deciphering anything else, feel free to strike it back below. Watch it fast, folks, cause studio bloodhounds are surely not far behind. No stateside release is set as yet but we’ll let you know when one is.
