Charlie Sheen to star in Roman Coppola’s A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III

So is director Roman Coppola’s new film A GLIMPSE INSIDE THE MIND OF CHARLIE SWAN III a direct result of this year’s Charlie Sheen tabloid Shenanigans? Whether yes or no, Variety’s report today that Sheen himself has been cast in the role of Swan certainly makes it at least somewhat non-coincidental.

According to Variety, the Coppola-written/directed indie will follow “a successful graphic designer whose fame, money and charm have made him irresistible to women. But when his girlfriend breaks up with him his life heads into a downward spiral.” Definitely shades of Sheen there. But again, was Coppola’s script directly influenced by the actor’s very public meltdown, or was this something conceived beforehand?

A GLIMPSE INSIDE THE MIND OF CHARLIE SWAN III also features “Bored to Death” star, CQ alum, and fellow Coppola family member (Nepotism FTW!) Jason Schwartzman.
