Charlie Sheen could have played Spider-Man?

Warning: This post is full of tiger’s blood and winning.

Or not winning…that’s up to you to decide.

Since I do have a soft spot for Sheen in my heart, I was a little drawn into this piece of information that he shared with Jay Mohr on his podcast. Before everyone got on the Spider-Man bandwagon, Sheen apparently had the idea to bring it to the big screen first. Here’s what he said:

“I had an office at Orion at the time, and I brought them Spider-Man. I said, ‘Look, in a couple of years, I’ll be too old to play Peter Parker.’”

The studio, which is now bankrupt, gave Charlie a rather firm answer despite his plea:

“And they said, ‘Yeah, we’re just thinking that cartoons are not the future, comic books are not the future.’ And I said, ‘But it’s Spider-Man, I’m perfect.’ And they were like, ‘Nah, we’re gonna wait.’”

A younger version of Sheen as Parker? You’re going to have to give me some time to really dwell on that one. While he did rock a good pair of glasses in MAJOR LEAGUE, I’m not sure he was ever Peter Parker material. Another question arises– Is Charlie Sheen telling the truth? Or is he messing with our spidey sense?
