Charlie Cox made a pair of welcome appearances on season one of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, donning the suit in his most significant turn as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in years. Now, he’s excited to keep up his superpowers and continue with the role wherever he’s needed
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Charlie Cox discussed his pleasure with being back in the role, even showing some disbelief. “It still feels too good to be true. I really had put this to bed emotionally; I didn’t think that this was going to happen. I literally don’t have the words to describe it. I feel incredibly grateful.”
Charlie Cox reprised his Daredevil role in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episodes “Ribbit and Rip It” and “Whose Show Is This?”, which concluded the show’s first season this month. He also had a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. On returning, Cox said he likes playing a more lighthearted version of Matt Murdock on She-Hulk, as opposed to the Netflix series version, who he described “had a huge amount of pressure and strain and tonally the show was very dark and gritty and heavy.”
Charlie Cox appearing on She-Hulk as Daredevil has been in the works since Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige approached him in 2020, two years after Cox wrapped up his three-season run as Matt Murdock/Daredevil on Netflix’s eponymous show.
“I’m so excited about starting again and reading scripts and putting the costume back on and getting on set and being in New York,” continued Cox. “I can’t wait to start back in and tell more of this amazing character’s story.”
The most notable continuation will be on Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to have 18 episodes. Looking to build on the crossover action, Tatiana Maslany has expressed interest in joining Daredevil: Born Again, which arrives on Disney+ in 2024.
