Channing Tatum reveals not so subtle Magic Mike XXL poster

On the eve of its first trailer, Channing Tatum has released the first poster for the upcoming sequel MAGIC MIKE XXL. If you watched the first movie with an open mind you likely enjoyed the dramatic side of the story (yes it had one). Of course, the marketing of the movie had a “come see male strippers” aspect that probably turned a lot of people away. It’s been said that the sequel will be a lighter road trip movie so take that for what it’s worth to you. Steven Soderbergh returns as director of photography, editor, and camera operator while Gregory Jacobs takes over the director’s chair.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.

Matthew McConaughey is not returning sadly, but they did add  Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, and Jada Pinkett Smith. MAGIC MIKE XXL opens in theaters on July 1st, 2015. Check back tomorrow for the first trailer!
