It was announced last month production on FAST AND FURIOUS 7 will resume in April, but at the time it still wasn't clear how Paul Walker will appear in the film after his tragic death last year. CGI, body doubles and even using the late actor's brother as a stand-in were all rumored as possibilities, but now it's been revealed how Paul Walker will remain in the film.
According to NY Daily News, Paul Walker will appear in FAST AND FURIOUS 7 with some help from four actors and CGI.
“They have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul’s physique and they will be used for movement and as a base. Paul’s face and voice will be used on top using CGI.”
The site's source also says Universal Pictures and the producers believe this is the best option for the film, and think fans of the series will be pleased with the final product.
We do know Paul Walker's character will be retired from the franchise in FAST AND FURIOUS 7, but what are Universal's plans for future FAST AND FURIOUS movies? Although many fans have said the series should probably end after the next movie, will the studio really want to kill a franchise that has been so profitable, especially with the last few films? I'm very curious to see what FAST AND FURIOUS 7 will be like, and if Universal will continue the franchise after the seventh movie.
FAST AND FURIOUS 7 will be released on April 10th, 2015.
