Two weeks after unleashing a digital series based on the video game Alien: Isolation through IGN, 20th Century Fox has announced that, as a part of the ALIEN franchise's 40th anniversary, they've asked six visionary filmmakers to create ALIEN-inspired short films. Each installment will help to present an exciting new narrative for fans of the franchise, while acting as a tribute to Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror classic ALIEN. I hope you've got your running shoes on, because the shorts are bound to feature plenty of narrow escapes through claustrophobic corridors, as a new cast of characters work to avoid Facehuggers, Xenomorphs, their own crazed crewmates, as well as a series of ship-related malfunctions.
You can check out the trailer below:
The Alien 40th Anniversary Shorts will be making their debut at Emerald City Comic-Con in Seatlle on Friday, March 15th (today), and at C2E2 in Chicago on Saturday, March 23rd. If you're unable to make it to either event, fear not. You can also watch the shorts via IGN where a new chapter will release every Friday, beginning on March 29th.
