Celebrate one year of Avengers: Endgame w/ Russo Bros. live tweet rewatch

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary since AVENGERS: ENDGAME hit the big screen, smashed box office records & gave many of us one of our most exhilarating moviegoing experiences of our lives. One year anniversaries aren't typically celebrated in cinema but in a time when we can't go to the movies due to the COVID-19 pandemic, looking back at AVENGERS: ENDGAME feels a bit more poignant now because it encompasses what the big screen experience is all about. Knowing that the success of ENDGAME really came down to the fans, directing duo the Russo Brothers have announced a live tweet rewatch of the film for all of us to participate in. 

The official Russo Brothers Instagram account posted a picture of Thor’s mighty hammer Mjolnir with the caption: “In honor of the 1 year anniversary of Avengers: Endgame, re-watch the film along with us TOMORROW starting at 4pmPT/7pmET. We will be LIVE tweeting throughout the entirety of the film and we will be LIVE on IG for the first hour. We may even have a special guest popping by on IG… Join us by using #AvengersAssemble. Who’s in?” The Instagram post can be seen below:

The post was submitted yesterday so this exciting tweet along is actually happening TODAY starting at 4pmPT/7pmET. It looks like they will be utilizing Twitter and Instagram for this event because while they will be live tweeting, they also will be going live on Instagram and there is even talk of a possible surprise guest popping up on the Instagram Live feed. Given that we have a whole team of Avengers to choose from, that special guest could be anyone so it will be exciting to see who may actually show up. News of the live tweet watch comes as the Russo Brothers are also celebrating the Netflix release of their latest producing effort, EXTRACTION, starring the mighty Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. Sam Hargrave takes the helm and the film trended over the weekend on Twitter as many watchers praised some of the film's many action sequences. 

I have to say it has been fun revisiting AVENGERS: ENDGAME all weekend because it really took me back to that opening night experience of seeing the film. I'm not sure I've ever had an experience quite like that and I'm not sure I ever will again. You could feel the energy of the crowd and everyone was so pumped and ready for every single moment. There are many audience reaction videos posted all over social media that can help you relive what it was like and hearing those cheers really does put you right back in that theater seat from last year. I personally wouldn't mind capping off one year of AVENGERS: ENDGAME with the directing duo behind it providing live commentary as I watched along.
