CBS unveils first teaser and logo for their new Star Trek series

It's been over a decade since Star Trek last graced our television screens with its presence, but the long running franchise will finally make its return to the small screen on CBS All Access next year. We still don't know all that much about the upcoming series but CBS recently unveiled a short teaser during its Upfront presentation. As the series won't kick off production until the fall, there's not a lot of reveals to be had in the teaser, other than the promise of "new crews, new villains, new heroes, and new worlds."

Unlike each of the previous Star Trek live-action series which have called California home, Star Trek (I guess that's the title they're going with for now) will instead be produced in Toronto. Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) will serve as the show-runner on Star Trek and although we don't have much concrete information on the show, it has been rumoured that it will take place between STAR TREK VI: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY and Star Trek: The Next Generation. It's also been said that Star Trek could be an anthology series, but I suppose we will have to wait and see.

The next Star Trek feature, STAR TREK BEYOND, will hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
