Millions of us tuned in for last nights Super Bowl XLVII and if you were among the multitude that was watching and you didn’t blink (or weren’t too inebriated when it aired) you may have caught a short little teaser for CBS televisions upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s “UNDER THE DOME”. If you’re not the sporting type and wasn’t checking out the big game, fret not for we have it for you to check out below.
“UNDER THE DOME” is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.
The 13-episode mini-series stars Jolene Purdy (“Glee”, Donnie Darko), Nicholas Strong, Britt Robertson (“The Secret Circle”), Natalie Martinez (“CSI: NY,” Death Race 2008), Colin Ford (“Supernatural”), and Alex Koch. “UNDER THE DOME” is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, will serve as executive producers. Acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) will direct the first episode.
“UNDER THE DOME” starts on Monday, June 24 and will air in the Monday 10 PM slot on CBS.
