Back in July, we heard that CBS would be airing an intriguing animated Halloween special this year. Intriguing because the title character is someone who passed away nearly ten years ago – the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson.
That animated special, Michael Jackson's Halloween, is now set to make its way onto CBS airwaves in just a little over a week, and the network has released a promo that offers a glimpse at this oddity. The promo can be seen below, and really doesn't show all that much. It's more focused on the voice cast than it is on the special's story, but there is some Halloween imagery like skeletons and pumpkins, and a tease of the animated Jackson himself.
Michael Jackson's Halloween centers on
millennials Vincent and Victoria, who meet “accidentally” on Halloween night and find themselves, along with Ichabod the dog, at a mysterious hotel located at 777 Jackson Street called This Place Hotel. Once inside, Vincent and Victoria are sent on an adventure culminating in a spectacular dance finale featuring an animated Michael Jackson.
As the promo will tell you, the special features the voices of Lucas Till, Christine Baranski, Alan Cumming, George Eads, Brad Garrett, Lucy Liu, and Jim Parsons. An important voice is left off that list: Kiersey Clemons, who provides the voice of Victoria opposite Till's Vincent.
Michael Jackson's Halloween makes its world premiere on CBS at 8/7c on Friday, October 27th.
